I was commissioned by a local non-profit to design and project manage the creative and production delivery of this worthwhile endeavor. The chosen graphic was helpful in raising funds for cancer awareness mainly through the sale of apparel and other items. Sydney, a 31-year-old cancer patient, and mother of three was selected as a recipient of the special fundraiser. The "SacredHeart" design and family slogan were originally inspired by traditional tattoo and vintage neon art, which became the focus of its development.

The visual challenge was to capture the personality and free spirit of "Old Americana" within the essence of the design -- while in the moment, reminding you of the greater cause. Other visual references were explored through the use of a mood board, providing greater context for visual relationships.

The Print Process - Once the design was finalized, my efforts were then focused on the mass production side of the project. I was tasked with ensuring that color was matched, separated, and output adequately in order to maintain the highest quality of print possible. The technical sheet or better known as the "tech pack" serves as a production safeguard for accuracy and consistency in product finishing.

"We Love You Sydney" (Sacred Heart design) - Spot halftone serigraph technique with Pantone direct opacity inks.
